Why is it so hard to get out of the rut you are in?

Simple answer: You lack skills and capacities… You can boil water, make coffee in the coffee maker, drive a car, open your smartphone… You are not quite hopeless… or are you? Not quite hapless either… or are you? ((Here is an article, 10% truth value… others talk about the topic… read it and feel how confusing it is…
Skills vs Competencies. What’s the Difference?
Gail Sturgess-December 6, 2012-Competency Management
What is a Skill?
These definitions were extracted from a number of different sources, but they all seem to say, more-or-less, the same thing:

Proficiency, facility, or dexterity that is acquired or developed through training or experience.
The ability, coming from one’s knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do something well
An ability and capacity acquired through deliberate, systematic, and sustained effort to smoothly and adaptively carry out complex activities or job functions involving ideas (cognitive skills), things (technical skills), and/or people (interpersonal skills).
A skill is the learned capacity to carry out pre-determined results
A learned ability to bring about the result you want, with maximum certainty and efficiency
Proficiency, facility, or dexterity that is acquired or developed through training or experience.

So, a Skill is something Learned in order to be able to carry out one or more job functions.
What is a Competency
Again, these definitions were extracted from a number of different sources:

A cluster of related abilities, commitments, knowledge, and skills that enable a person (or an organization) to act effectively in a job or situation.
Competencies refer to skills or knowledge that lead to superior performance.
Measurable skills, abilities and personality traits that identify successful employees against defined roles within an organisation
A competency is more than just knowledge and skills. It involves the ability to meet complex demands, by drawing on and mobilising psychosocial resources (including skills and attitudes) in a particular context.
A measurable pattern of knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviours, and other characteristics that an individual needs to perform work roles or occupational functions successfully.
Competencies specify the “how” (as opposed to the what) of performing job tasks, or what the person needs to do the job successfully.

Competencies, therefore, may incorporate a skill, but are MORE than the skill, they include abilities and behaviours, as well as knowledge that is fundamental to the use of a skill.
An Example
An example of this in an IT context is “Programming”. To effectively write a computer program one needs good analytical, logical, and interpretive ability as well as the skill to write the program in a specific language. So, learning Java, C++, C#, etc. is a Skill. But underlying the ability to use that skill effectively is analytical, logical and interpretive ability – those are Competencies.

The reason that we suggest this is because it is relatively easy to learn other programming languages once one knows one language well (and I talk from personal experience). However, without the underlying Competence, it is virtually impossible to write an effective program – irrespective of the language.
Types of Competencies
Competencies effectively fall in three groups:

Behavioural (or Life Skills) Competencies Life skills are problem solving behaviours used appropriately and responsibly in the management of personal affairs. They are a set of human skills acquired via teaching or direct experience that are used to handle problems and questions commonly encountered in daily human life. Examples are: Communication, Analytical Ability, Problem Solving, Initiative, etc.
Functional (or Technical) Competencies Functional Competencies relate to functions, processes, and roles within the organisation and include the knowledge of, and skill in the exercise of, practices required for successful accomplishment of a specific job or task. Examples are: Application Systems Development, Networking and Communication, Database Analysis and Design, etc.
Professional Competencies Professional competencies are competencies that allow for success in an organisational context. They are the accelerators of performance or – if lacking in sufficient strength and quality – are the reason people fail to excel in jobs. Examples are: Business Environment, Industry and Professional Standards, Negotiation, People Management, etc.

Levels of Criticality

In any organisation there are some Competencies that are more important than others, based on different criteria:

Core Competencies – Core competencies are those competencies that any successful employee will need to rise through the organisation. These Competencies would generally relate in some way to the business of the organisation.
Key Competencies – Key competencies contribute to valued outcomes of the organisation, defining the abilities of individuals to meet strategic demands, and are important not just for specialists but for all individuals.
Critical Competencies – Critical competencies are competencies without which the organisation will be unable to achieve it’s goals and strategy.

and some more clarification…
Skill: Noun
Capacity to do something well; technique, ability. Skills are usually acquired or learned, as opposed to abilities, which are often thought of as innate.

Capacity: noun (plural: capacities)

The ability to hold, receive or absorb
A measure of such ability; volume
Capability; the ability to perform some task
Mental ability; the power to learn
A faculty; the potential for growth and development ))

If you remember, my passion, my purpose, my reason d’etre is to penetrate the invisible portion of all knowledge. It gives me joy, and it keeps me busy.

One of the tools I use to do my “work” is the ability to see what I feel. See its size, nature, movement, and its connections to other things. I am an empath and I am (I hate the word) a clairsensar, which means what I just said… I see what I feel… blah blah blah.

What does skill-building do to you, beyond building skills?

I realized today that I am still at the beginning phases of my “entrepreneurial” journey… meaning: I am not a seasoned entrepreneur.

Why that would be, you ask?

Today I had an insight. Everyone talks about knowing, maybe even knowing how to do something, but hardly anyone talks about building skills, the building blocks of a successful life.

There is a what to do… and then there is a how to do it… and they all look magical and at least foggy for most people…

There are so many how’s that I can promise you it takes years of diligent doing projects one after the other, with help, before you’ll get any good at it.

Here is an embarrassing example: I have been making my own capsules of supplements… I buy empty capsules and fill them with whatever I want to take.

Tree of Knowledge path to life… Tree of Life path to Life. What’s the difference?

As people round the steps in the 67 step coaching program, as they begin the second cycle, they start to see new things, or they keep on seeing the same things…

Some see the things from memory. Comparing. “Knowing”. And some from actually seeing.

Step two (in the 67 steps) introduces the idea of the Selfish Gene, evolutionary stable strategy.

This point is where people diverge: one in the direction of the Tree of Knowledge, the other in the direction of the Tree of Life.

It is really amazing to watch them go, unaware of the other path.

Self-image… the lies, the misunderstanding, the delusions… Can you change it?

Let us not confuse ourselves by failing to recognize that there are two kinds of self-confidence — one: a trait of personality and another: that comes from knowledge of a subject. It is no particular credit to the educator to help build the first without building the second. The objective of education is not the production of self-confident fools.” ~ Albert Bandura, Self Efficacy: The Exercise of Control, p.65

When I ask a person about their self-image, they have a different image of themselves consciously than on the first brain unconscious level.

Here are a few examples:Back in 1987 my conscious self-image, the one I promoted, was that I was very smart. My unconscious, automatic self-image was that I was a failure, or more precisely, a failure waiting to happen.

It’s in your DNA… but it’s not activated

You’ll get the most out of this article, if you map it on yourself, on your life… Everything I write about you can find in your own life, in one form or another.

On Tuesdays I do my grocery shopping. Oftentimes I buy something chocolate, not a whole lot, a few bites I can finish before I get home. Other times I buy more…

I always know I did something really stupid within a few hours… Sugar doesn’t agree with me.

Sometimes I am knocked out for days… my mood, my energy level, my sleep, my mental sharpness all suffer.

So, here I am, Wednesday morning. It began with me not wanting to get up. Then I was so cold, my teeth were chattering. Then I didn’t feel like doing anything. Apathetic.

So I started to ponder, through the fog, and here I am two whole hours later… by this time, normally, I have finished two articles. Not today… I don’t even know if there is enough in me for one whole article… But let me try.

How you do anything is how you do everything.

The great thing about this statement, that you can pull out a little corner of someone’s life and see the whole life… just like with holograms… Don’t even try to understand if you eat sugar or drink, or eat bread… it’s too complicated for you… lol.

Life skills, capacity, talent, desire, ambition, greed defined… can you manifest with what you have?

OK… this is the continuation of the WWII article…

In that I talk about Hitler and look at what was the issue that caused him losing the war in Russia… So I am repeating what I said there…
Hitler: 10 capacities working. Enough to come to power. Enough to dupe millions and millions. But not enough to create and execute a winning strategy of war. Impatient, jumping around, making blunders. Also: he didn’t see the big picture… his greed blinded him.

Believing his own interpretation of things, he fires his decision making experts… and loses the war.

What capacity was missing? System, process, resilience, flexibility, and astute. And definitely missing the big picture.
Brings it down to human level, doesn’t it?

So what is a skill, what is a capacity, what is a talent?

And what is Life Force, what is desire, ambition, and greed?

These are the questions I have been pondering, muscle testing, and answering on my current level of knowledge next.

And the last question is: could we call these capacities life skills?

Does having more capacities raise your vibration too?

Superiority… The word comes up a lot in my coaching. Mostly in the context of your soul correction.

But in reality, some things are superior to other things… because all exists on many scales.

On the DNA capacities “scale” someone with 30 capacities is superior to someone who has 29, 20, 10, 7.

I haven’t found anyone superior with less than seven capacities, though I am sure there are.

So superior is not the issue. Acting superior is the issue.

It attacks people’s egos, the part of a human that makes sure the person survives. And as in any competition, it can get ugly. ((Ugly really appeals to the lowest common denominator. They are attracted to the low vibration, low capacity, brawn person… that is the problem in democracy: people who are low vibration, self-serving are elected by the low vibration, self-serving crowds. The same people who were so vocal answering my email with their imminent wisdom knowing what capacities mean, and such.))

People tend to cultivate the capacities that they consider an unfair advantage in the competition for survival.

In politics, it is mostly lying convincingly, trashing the other, promising, and such. In many areas that is physical strength.

Awareness… it’s seeing and knowing what you are looking at… Accurately.

I have been in this inquiry since February when I first heard Tai say: the strongest predictor of your success, in any area of life, is the level of your awareness.

So what is this awareness that is so important.

Nine months… it’s taken me till today to get complete clarity of what this “thing” awareness is.

Six million Jews perished in the gas chambers and mass graves during the holocaust, because they were not aware.

Tens of millions of people were ashamed of themselves and their association with Germany, people who elected Hitler and the Nazi party… because they weren’t aware.

Donald Trump: soul correction, vibration. overall intelligence… the other side of The Donald

Soul correction… if it is accurate and really something recognizable, then you should be able to tell someone’s soul correction without knowing their birth date.

Of course you need to know the person well.

This is exactly what happened this morning.

I found an email in my inbox recommending an article on what Tony Schwartz, Donald Trump’s “The Art of The Deal” book’s ghostwriter has to say now that the Republican’s make Donald Trump their presidential candidate. Donald Trump: personal vibration: 70. Number of spiritual capacities: 4, overall intelligence, including emotional and spiritual intelligence: 30. For contrast: Adolph Hitler: personal vibration: 100. spiritual capacities: 4. overall intelligence: 50.

I am only halfway in the article, and it is already clear: Donald Trump is the archetype of a bombastic liar, a delusional self-aggrandizing sociopath… The soul correction of “Finish What You Start”.

Obviously each soul correction is a scale… where the correction is done to one degree or another.
